2009 Anomaly Vineyards Cabernet SauvignonIt is hard to believe that the 2009 Anomaly Vineyards Cabernet represents our 10th vintage. We would like to thank you for all of your support over the years. The 2009 growing season in Napa Valley was simply ideal: hardly any frost in the spring lead to a few late spring showers. The usual, intense summer heat spikes were thankfully absent, allowing the grapes to ripen evenly and thoroughly. Although a major rain event rolled in during the middle of October, all the grapes at Anomaly had just made it in from the field.
Winemaker's Tasting Notes
Have you ever had one of those days that seemed to have been orchestrated by the Gods? Every bit of it was in its right place; the meals were exquisitely timed and were, of course, delicious, but also not a single bite too much. The air was clean and crisp, the sounds vibrant and joyful. Was it a dream? Were you in love? Maybe it was good planning, maybe providence, or maybe just dumb luck. Looking back on such a day fills one with nostalgia and satisfaction, even yearning. The 2009 Anomaly is just like one of those rare, exquisite days. Each and every nuance in the wine both complements the previous flavor and prepares you for the next. It is thorough without being too rich, precise, yet complex, inviting but also mysterious. It is simply the best example of the noble Cabernet grape that Anomaly has been fortunate enough to help steward into bottle. For more exact notes, please taste for yourself and, of course, trust your palate.
